Shrubs and Trees

A Variety of Beautiful Shrubs Showing their ColorsShrubs and trees prefer a soil that generally has a higher level of fungal microbes. These fungi are available in the Humisoil and the Bountea Compost Tea .

Mycorrhizae (a special fungi) available in Root Web and Soil Life Starter are essential to help shrub and tree extend their root systems to collect more nutrients and minerals.

•  For transplanting shrubs and trees see Transplanting.

•  To brew Bountea Compost Tea with a higher percentage of fungi, brew at lower temperatures (60 to 65F) and for 48 hours instead of 24 hours.

•  Always add Root Web to the Bountea Compost Tea at the beginning of the season.

•  Soak the soil well with the Bountea Compost Tea and Root Web around the drip line of trees and shrubs, using extra water as necessary. Mycorrhizae fungal spores must make contact with the root system to survive.

•  Spray the leaves of your shrubs and trees with Bountea Compost Tea with M3 added. Make sure to cover 70% of the tops and bottom surfaces of the leaves.

•  If your trees or shrubs show signs of disease, spray the leaves with Bountea Compost Tea to which 1 tablespoon of QLC has been added at the beginning of the brewing cycle.

•  Apply Bountea Compost Tea with Root Web to the soil around the shrub or tree at the end of the season to prepare for winter. Do not add M3.

Note: The Endomycorrhizae fungi in the Root Web and Soil Life Starter work only for most plants, shrubs, and deciduous trees. To treat evergreens (firs, pines, junipers, cedars, etc.) we suggest Ectomycorrhizae. Please contact us to place a special order.
